Panini America, a leading name in the trading card industry, has recently sealed a multi-year exclusive deal with Vernell Brown III, renowned as “VB3,” a four-star wide receiver from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida. This partnership will see the creation of autographed trading cards and memorabilia featuring Brown, highlighting his exceptional talent across Panini’s collegiate product lines.
Becoming a rising star in the world of high school football, VB3 has garnered attention as one of the most promising wide receiver prospects nationwide. With an outstanding track record, including 70 receptions for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns in the previous season, as well as 51 catches for 664 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, Brown has solidified his position as a standout player. His commitment to the University of Florida earlier this year further cements his status, ensuring he will be a key feature in Panini’s product offerings and marketing initiatives.
Among a roster of talented young athletes like Jalen Milroe, Quinn Ewers, Dylan Raiola, Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, and Zachariah Branch, Vernell Brown III is poised to make a significant impact at the collegiate level. Panini America’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Athlete Relations, Jason Howarth, expressed his confidence in Brown’s potential, stating, “VB3 is on track to be a dynamic player, and we’re excited to showcase him in our collegiate collections and promotional campaigns.”
This exclusive collaboration signifies Panini’s foray into the increasingly popular Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) sphere. The recent introduction of Panini College enables athletes from partnered universities to have their own trading cards, initially launching at Ohio State, Nebraska, and Texas, with intentions to expand to more schools in the future.
Delighted with the partnership, Vernell Brown III expressed his thrill, remarking, “Teaming up with Panini is a realization of a childhood dream. The idea of having my own trading card has always been a part of my aspirations, and now that it’s happening, it feels truly special and fulfilling.” With this deal, VB3 is not just making waves on the football field but also leaving his mark in the world of sports memorabilia and collectibles.
